Another Super Bowl Menu Idea
I received an email from a "Pittsburgher and die-hard Steeler fan" yesterday who argued that there might be better choices for the Steeler side of this year's Super Bowl menu. She feels that pierogies and cabbage and noodles are more local food choices. My response is that I considered those dishes, but didn't feel they were the kind of dishes I'd want at a Super Bowl party. They were better suited to a sit-down meal. But this reader also suggested another item that would make a good party sandwich, Chipped Chopped Ham. Isaly's, the Pittsburgh deli that invented this product, offers a recipe for Rosie's Sandwich on their site. So, if you're a die-hard Steeler fan, you might want to drop all of the Seattle food choices from the menu, and add any or all of these other Pittsburgher suggestions.
